Translating Improved Health into Lower Costs and Higher Productivity

BUCK THE TREND
With the increasing epidemic of chronic disease and crushing healthcare costs cutting further into profit margins, an employer’s choice in a benefits broker is becoming vital to their long term success.

At Intercare, we look at improving health and performance as a strategic investment that lowers costs, over time.

Intercare helps clients meet today’s health challenges with corporate wellness programs that transform their culture and create healthier more productive employees. We guide employers from merely treating disease to improving population health and performance. Our wellness solutions increase productivity and lower absenteeism, while empowering clients to move from managing insurance as an expense to optimizing their investment. The result—improved employee and company performance and lower premium costs.

INTERCARE’S HEALTH & PERFORMANCE SERVICES
Intercare’s Health and Performance Division partners with clients to improve employee and organizational health and performance, as well as develop a culture of awareness and accountability. By leveraging Intercare’s strategic 5-phase process and unparalleled resources, our certified Health and Performance consultants identify organizational risk factors, develop tailored strategies to mitigate the risks, and ensure wellness initiatives have a successful launch, sustained momentum and measurable outcomes.

Our 5-phase process includes:

Phase One: Secure Senior Leadership Buy-in and Define Goals and Strategies
C-level support of wellness initiatives is critical to the success of any program. Intercare works with executive teams to secure buy-in, define wellness strategies and develop a rolling three-year operational plan.

Phase Two: Collect and Analyze Data
Every organization is unique, as is their workforce and health risks. Collecting and analyzing data specific to the organization is a critical step. Intercare’s data collection and analysis includes data from environmental assessments, biometric screenings, health assessments and employee surveys.

Phase Three: Define and Design Programs
Intercare uses the data collected to develop targeted initiatives and programs that address the specific needs and goals of each population. In this phase our Health and Performance consultants work with clients to develop custom programs and provide valuable information on wellness resources, vendors, tools and support, including carrier tools and programs.

Phase Four: Educate and Engage the Workforce and Families
Engaging the workforce and their families in wellness initiatives is exciting and challenging for any employer. Intercare provides a variety of services in this important phase including the development of a communications strategy, forming and co-facilitating wellness committees, developing targeted education programs and providing monthly newsletters and health observances calendars.

Phase Five: Measure and Evaluate the Results
The true test of a wellness initiative is “Did we see improvement?” and “What was the ROI?” Intercare’s Health and Performance consultants drive the framework for measurement of wellness initiatives, develop client specific dashboards and facilitate an annual review and evaluation of the wellness strategies, goals and progress.
